Simply superb rendition guaranteed to give you goosebumps. Unable to fathom why something as beautiful as this needs to be compared and fought over with. Enjoy the music. That’s what is more important than forcing ones point across.

Let us analyse thus: 1. Hariji has sung in the Raag Brindavan sarag in Tisra taalaa; 2.Ghulam Ali saab in Raag TILANG; 3.Mehdi saab in Raag Misra SHIVRANJANI/KHAMAJ IIN TEEN TAAL RESPECTIVELY.All these renditions r v.good indeed.

Actually this is very good version of the song. But I like most the Gulam Ali’s version.
Hariharan have sung this song in more classical way. Mehdi Hasan’s version is quite nice.

just listen to the sangadhis (i dont know the hindi equivalent of that word) … i am pretty sure only a handful can do this with this much control… mehdi ji may be one of those…

Hariharan ji is an amazing singer but this tune to Patta Patta ruins the song. It doesn’t suit the lyrics. Mehdi Hassan ji’s rendition is waaayyyy better. And to those who are disrespecting Mehdi Hassan ji, he is much more advanced than Hariharan ji. And I am 100% sure he could sing all genres of music he just never showed it, his love was in true classical ghazal. Both singers are great and versatile but one should never ever compare a Maestro and Legend of Ghazal Gayaki to Hariharan ji.

mehdi hassan and to much larger extent Nusrat fateh ali khan are the most over rated singers in history of subcontinent. though i think their greatness lies in how they have set up a genre of singing, in purely technical terms they both were very good singers, but nothing to go gaga over. listen to earlier ghazal singers like barkat ali khan and u will know what true ability is.

lol do u guys know ??whos his maestro ???go and search history first, u don’t fucking know abt da music and u just barking here, Mehdi Hassan khan saab was his maestro , and he admitted in many channels and on many live shows, dat he always copies Mehdi Hassan khan saab ,him, anoop jalota, even lata jee respect Mehdi Hassan khan saab alot, so don’t compare him with Mehdi Hassan khan saab , he was only one in this world and no one can touch his caliber in ghazal .

The delicate feelings of the words are better captured in Mehdi Hassan’s rendition….he is the king of feel.
Hariharan is fantastic, but the feel has changed to a “performance”.

Here is the version of this gazal sung by the mehandi hasan..feel the difference.. most people do not like to accept that hari sang better just because of their overwhelming level of personality cult for mehandi hasan..
